Plateau peuteropvang Valkenhorst

Welcome to Plateau Peuteropvang Valkenhorst, located at Bremstraat 14 in Assen-Oost. We are part of Stichting Plateau Kinderopvang and have provided small-scale, safe and trusted toddler care for up to 16 children per day since 2018. Our programme is built around learning through play and a smooth transition to primary school. The room is specially designed for toddlers aged 2 to 4. A consistent team of VVE-certified pedagogical staff ensures your child sees familiar faces every day. Toddler care is offered in the mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; children from 2.5 years may attend two to four mornings a week. Activities focus on stimulating your child’s development. We use themes that connect with toddlers’ everyday experiences: language and speech development, motor skills, creative expression and social interaction. We read aloud from our children’s books, sing songs and create crafts. Children also enjoy plenty of time in our own enclosed outdoor play area, where they can romp, build sandcastles and explore nature. Because we are part of Kindcentrum Valkenhorst, we work closely with the primary school. This creates a continuous developmental line and a smooth move into Group 1. We use Early Childhood Education (VVE) to prepare children for primary school through play. Parental involvement is important to us. We keep you regularly informed about your child’s development and welcome your input. Together we ensure your toddler can develop optimally in a safe and stimulating environment.
