Kindcentrum Torenlei

Kindcentrum Torenlei is the heart of Esbeek. We provide care and education to children aged 0-13 in the characteristic church building at Dorpsstraat 8. For our youngest children we have two daycare groups: a toddler group ‘Rakkers’ for children aged 2 to 4 and a vertical group ‘Makkers’ for children aged 0 to 4. This setup allows siblings to stay connected and children to grow at their own pace. We work with themes; each theme connects to the children's world of experience and stimulates all areas of development. We value outdoor play: our large garden with sandbox offers plenty of space to explore and romp. We also regularly venture out into the village and surroundings. Every week we take the toddlers to the gym for toddler gymnastics twice, where they develop their motor skills through play. Our location is small-scale, so every child is literally seen. Lines are short and our pedagogical staff know each child and parent personally. We use the Parro app to share photos and short messages, so parents can follow their child's day. We also regularly organize parent meetings and evenings to discuss development and goals for the coming year. Thanks to the open spaces in our building, there is much contact between daycare and the lower grades of education. The transition from daycare to group 1 therefore becomes a small step: the building is already familiar, the teachers are known and there are already friends. In this way we offer safety and shelter, give direction and space to development and are a warm welcome for every child.
