Kindcentrum 't Paalhoofd

Located at the foot of the dunes in Zoutelande, our daycare centre ‘t Paalhoofd is part of the multifunctional building that also houses the primary school of the same name. Together we form Kindcentrum ‘t Paalhoofd: one location where children from 0-4 years can grow up in a familiar, safe environment, just a stone’s throw from the beach. We work with one vertical group for a maximum of 12 children aged 0-4. Two permanent pedagogical professionals guide the children; they know every child and tailor activities, rest periods and care exactly to what is needed. The space is bright and open, with windows on all sides and direct access to our shared outdoor playground. Here children can run, climb, scramble and play to their heart’s content with ride-on toys, sand and water. Our day starts with free play, followed by a joint circle in which we sing, name names and discuss the weekly theme. Afterwards there is room for crafts at the creative table, building in the construction corner or exploring in the sandbox. We read aloud, take trips to the supermarket or the beach and pay a lot of attention to language, motor skills and social skills. We move outside at least twice a day; in fine weather we stay out even longer. Care is an important part of our day. We change, feed and give bottles exactly according to your child’s home routine. From about one year old we gradually introduce the child to the group rhythm. Fruit, water and tea are included as standard and we take allergies or special wishes into account. In between there is time for rest: in our separate bedroom children can sleep in their own bed with familiar things from home. We actively involve parents: every morning and afternoon there is a short handover, we share our observations annually and regularly organise joint activities such as Christmas carols or a mini concert. Together we ensure that your child feels completely at home with us and can discover with pleasure who they are and what they can do.
