Kindcentrum Ontdekkingsreizigers

Welcome to the daycare centre of Kindcentrum De Ontdekkingsreizigers, located at Burgemeester van Dijkesingel 51 in the new Gouda district of Westergouwe. Since 2016 we have been providing care and development for children aged 0 to 4 years under one roof, together with our partners Stichting Klasse, De Groeiling, De Vier Windstreken and Quadrant Kindercentra. Our daycare centre consists of four age-based groups: Comets and Planets for children aged 0-2 and Astronauts and Rockets for children aged 2-4. Each group has its own safe playroom with materials tailored to your child’s stage of development. From the group rooms the children can walk straight out to their own outdoor playground: the very youngest can play undisturbed in the sand, while toddlers can ride, run and climb in the spacious, clearly laid-out area next to it. We follow your child’s natural rhythm. The day begins with a warm welcome and a handover between parent and practitioner. At around 10:00 a.m. we all eat fresh fruit together; babies receive their fruit purée a little earlier and then settle down for a nap. Between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. we are outside as much as possible; if the weather is bad we move activities to our gym, the corridor or the group room. At noon we sit down together for a healthy sandwich lunch where your child can choose his or her own toppings. Afterwards it is rest time: most children go to bed with a clean nappy. Children who are awake look at books or play in the gym with a practitioner. At 3:00 p.m. a healthy snack is served and we go outside once more. Between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. you pick up your child – usually greeted with a big smile. Safety, calm and development are our priorities. Our practitioners are trained to give your child the space to discover his or her own abilities within a familiar structure. We follow clear nutrition and sleep policies, use the Parent app to keep you updated daily with photos and messages, and tailor all activities to the world of young children. In this way we give your child a solid foundation and a warm second home.
