Kindcentrum Margriet

Kindcentrum Margriet is located in a modern building at Kruizemunthof 8 in Wierden, directly opposite the primary school that also houses childcare centre De Boterbloem. As a day-care centre (KDV) we provide care for up to 32 children aged 0 to 4, divided into two horizontal groups: a baby group (0-2 years) and a toddler group (2-4 years). Our location operates under the umbrella of Christelijke Opvang De Kindertuin and is rooted in the tradition of safe, trusted and Christian-inspired childcare. Each group room is spacious and furnished according to age. The baby group has 68 m² of play space for a maximum of 16 children; the toddler group measures 58 m² (excluding a separate 9.28 m² bedroom) and also accommodates up to 16 children. Both rooms have direct access to their own child toilet, changing area and pantry, so all care can take place close by and safely. Through the rear doors the children walk straight into our enclosed outdoor area, which is fully geared to young children: soft impact surfaces, shady spots and play equipment that invites movement and discovery. At Kindcentrum Margriet we work with an accredited Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme. From the age of 2.5, children can join our VVE group, where we work in a structured yet playful way on language, numeracy, motor skills and social-emotional development. Our pedagogical staff follow an annual training plan to keep their knowledge up to date and maintain a fixed carer-child ratio of at least 1:8 during VVE hours. Parents are kept informed of their child’s development through our parent app, newsletters and personal conversations. Rest, regularity and rhythm are central to our daily routine. For the very youngest this means gentle sleep moments in our separate bedrooms; for toddlers there is room for free play and discovery corners, such as a home corner and a construction corner. We believe it is important that every child feels safe and seen. That is why each child is assigned a regular carer who gets to know the child and the parents well and closely follows the child’s development. In short: Kindcentrum Margriet offers small-scale, professional and loving care in a homely environment, where every child is given the space to grow at his or her own pace.
