Kindcentrum LEF

Welcome to Montessori Kindcentrum LEF, located at Weerdsingel Westzijde 22 in the heart of Utrecht. We are a young, growing child-centre whose play-and-learn group (2.5-4 years) forms part of a continuous learning and development environment that also includes a primary school and after-school care. Our play-and-learn group follows the Montessori pedagogy: children are given space to discover and explore within a safe, structured setting. We build on the talents and possibilities of every child and provide a rich learning environment in which they playfully learn to co-operate, think critically and solve problems. Our pedagogical staff have completed an additional Montessori training on top of their regular qualification. They guide the children with the core principle ‘Help me to do it myself’. We work in mixed-age groups where children choose their own activities—building with Montessori materials, drawing, reading aloud or playing outside on our secure playground. Freedom within clear boundaries gives calm and structure, allowing each child to develop at his or her own pace. The play-and-learn group is housed in a fresh, modern building delivered in January 2022. We have our own space with small-scale groups so that every child receives the attention they deserve. Parents are actively involved through the Parro app: you can receive photos and messages, report absences and easily schedule appointments. We regularly organise outings to Utrecht’s city gardens and collaborate with cultural institutions in the neighbourhood. Together with parents we create a warm community in which every child is given the space to learn and flourish.
