Kindcentrum de Werf

Kindcentrum de Werf is located in the modern multifunctional centre Presikhaven at Laan van Presikhaaf 7 in Arnhem. We are a public Integral Child Centre (IKC) where education, childcare and after-school clubs work closely together. For our day-care centre (KDV) this means that children from 0 years of age are welcome in a warm, safe environment where everyone feels welcome, valued and at home. Our pedagogical climate is built on the core values warm, welcome, clear and at the heart of society. We work with clear rules and agreements so that parents and children know exactly where they stand. Consultation with parents is very important to us: we do it together. Thanks to continuous learning lines, children can join our starting groups from the age of 2 and from 3.5 years onwards they can already get acquainted with our education groups one afternoon a week. In this way they grow up in a familiar place and move on to primary school without major transitions. Within our KDV rooms we offer vertical groups, in which children from 0 to 4 years play and learn together. We see that young children learn a lot from each other; the very youngest look at the toddlers and preschoolers, while the older children are just proud when they can help the younger children. Our pedagogical staff closely follow the development of each child and tailor activities and guidance to what that child needs. We work together with Kentalis, so that children with a developmental language disorder (TOS) can receive extra support directly within the building. In this way we offer inclusive education and care tailored to the individual.
