Kindcentrum de Wegwijzer

Welcome to Kindcentrum De Wegwijzer, located at Harm Tiesingstraat 74 in the heart of 2e Exloërmond. We are an open Christian child centre and have been offering education, childcare, relaxation and care to children aged 0–13 under one roof since 2018. For our youngest guests, aged 0–4, we provide a cosy day-care unit with its own outdoor area. This group operates entirely under CKC Drenthe Childcare and is open five days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Our pedagogical starting point is clear: we want every child to feel at home, safe and happy. We use Riksen-Walraven’s four core pedagogical goals as our guide, inspired by our three values: Safety, Responsibility and Respect. Our regular pedagogical staff closely follow each child’s development and consciously focus on language, play, independence, social interaction, respect, discovery and dealing with rules and boundaries. When needed, we actively support parents with parenting questions. The daily routine is playful yet purposeful. We work with horizontal age groups, so every child receives activities that match their exact stage of development. The room is arranged into different corners: a construction corner, reading corner, home corner and an atelier where we regularly craft and paint. We sing a lot, make music with simple instruments and read aloud from our own book collection. At least once a week we explore our own garden or the immediate surroundings: we hunt for insects, feed the birds and learn about nature and the seasons through play. In between, there is plenty of room for rest and relaxation; the sleeping room is quiet and dark, with cots and cradles set up to suit your child. Practical matters are taken care of for you. We provide nappies and serve water or milk with meals; formula can be brought from home. For lunch we offer a hot meal tailored to your child’s age. In case of food allergies or special diets we consult personally and adapt the menu. You receive a daily message via the Social Schools app with a short recap and a photo, so you can share in your child’s experiences. In short, at De Wegwijzer children grow and play in a safe, familiar environment while parents can combine work and care with peace of mind.
