Kindcentrum De Tovertuin

Welcome to Kindcentrum De Tovertuin, located at Albertine Agnesstraat 30 in Leiden. As part of FloreoKids, we have been providing childcare for more than ten years based on the Kindertalentenfluisteraar concept: every child is truly seen and given every opportunity to discover and develop their talents. De Tovertuin consists of two horizontal groups. The Caterpillars welcome children from 0 to about 2.5 years in a safe, homely setting. The Butterflies care for children from 2 to 4 years and use the recognised Uk & Puk programme. This early-education programme focuses extra on language and speech development, so that children start primary school with confidence. Each day follows a predictable rhythm. We sing together in a circle, paint with colours, play with sand and water or enjoy movement games. After a communal lunch with a fresh hot meal, there is time for rest or an afternoon nap. Our spacious play hall offers shelter in poorer weather, while the large garden invites climbing, scrambling, cycling and romping in the open air. Since 2015 all our pedagogical staff have held the Royal Dutch Gymnastics Union Movement Diploma. This makes us the first childcare centre in Leiden officially certified to provide movement lessons for toddlers aged 2-4. The lessons are playful, safe and perfectly matched to young children’s developmental stage. The centre sits on the edge of Noorderpark and is easily reached by bike or car.
