Kindcentrum De Stern

Kindcentrum De Stern is located at two addresses in the Park16hoven district: the daycare centre is at Woensdrechtstraat 11 and the toddler care and after-school care at Woensdrechtstraat 9A. We provide childcare for children aged 0 to 4 in a homely, natural environment where they learn from and with each other. Our pedagogical approach is inspired by anthroposophy: calm, rhythm and regularity are central. Each day follows a clear structure in which children can choose to play, craft, sing or help in the vegetable garden. We bake fresh bread together and use vegetables and fruit from our own garden. Artistic activities such as dance, handicrafts, painting, drama and music are offered every week, alongside plenty of outdoor play in and with nature. The seasons set the rhythm of our year; we celebrate seasonal festivals and teach children to recognise the passage of time. Early childhood education is delivered through the “Speelplezier” programme, creating a continuous learning path from childcare to primary education. Our pedagogical staff are conscious of their role model function and give children every opportunity to develop their talents. We work in horizontal groups, with babies, toddlers and preschoolers cared for separately so that we can fully meet their developmental needs.
