Kindcentrum De Kloostertuin is located at Aletta Jacobsweg 80 in Assen’s Kloosterveen district and is part of the Christian foundation CKC Drenthe. We provide daycare (KDV) for children aged 0 to 4 in a modern, sustainable building opened in 2019. Our care is designed to create a seamless line between play and learning within one single pedagogical vision. For the youngest we have a separate baby group with its own sleeping facilities, bottle-feeding, nappies and care products. The toddler groups follow the Early Childhood Education programme ‘Kaleidoscoop’, through which we stimulate language, numeracy and social skills in a playful way. A spacious green outdoor area with sandpit and nature playground allows children to explore safely; when weather permits we offer outdoor naps. Our qualified childcare staff work closely with the teachers of the adjacent primary school, so children see familiar faces throughout the day. Registration and requests for extra days are easily handled via the Kids Konnect parent app. Parents receive daily photos and reports through the app and are actively involved in their child’s development. We use horizontal grouping: babies (0-2) and toddlers (2-4) are in separate groups with age-appropriate materials and activities. Half-day care is possible and flexible care during holidays or inset days can be arranged. Twice a year CKC Drenthe schedules a study day on which the entire centre is closed; we communicate these dates well in advance.
