Kindcentrum De Grift

We are Kindcentrum De Grift, located in the multifunctional building at Prof. Dr. Obbinkstraat 3 in Hoogersmilde. In partnership with CKC Drenthe and Kits Primair, we provide after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 13. Our BSO group is situated on the first floor of the centre, offering a safe and familiar place for children after school hours. Our BSO focuses on giving children a secure and relaxed environment where they can be themselves. The afternoon starts with a shared moment: children are picked up from class or arrive independently, and are welcomed with a drink and a cracker. Afterwards, there is time for outdoor play, free play or structured activities. We make use of the nearby forest and sports facilities, encouraging movement and exploration. At 4:00 PM, children enjoy a fruit snack, followed by free play or activities until pick-up time. We maintain a predictable daily rhythm, with professional staff creating a homely atmosphere. Interaction between children of different ages is encouraged, helping them learn from and support each other. We offer age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, reading, sports and games, and regularly organise excursions and sports events. Children are also given space for their own initiatives and creativity. Parents stay informed through Social Schools, where we share weekly updates, photos and announcements. A yearly well-being conversation is scheduled with each child. We are open 52 weeks a year, Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. During school holidays and study days, we remain open so parents can always rely on us.
