Welcome to BSO De Breede Hei, part of SKA Kinderopvang located at Dopheide 40 in Kattenbroek, Amersfoort. We provide after-school care for up to 42 children aged 4 to 12. Our setting is a safe, familiar place where children can relax, play and explore after the school day ends. We follow the ‘Eigen Wijze Kids’ approach: every child is free and able to develop in his or her own unique way. Our professional pedagogical staff create a secure base and still leave plenty of room for personal initiative. Children are placed in mixed-age ‘home groups’ so that older children learn to care and younger ones quickly feel at home. Activities vary each day. After school the children first enjoy fruit and a drink, then choose for themselves: playing football or tag in our own garden, getting creative in the arts & crafts corner, or taking part in nature education projects such as gardening and building insect hotels. We also organise regular trips to the playground, the forest or a museum. We pick up children from nearby primary schools and can provide a warm meal when parents request it. Dietary needs and allergies are discussed individually so that every child can participate safely and healthily. In short, at BSO De Breede Hei children experience the best hours of their day: playing, learning and growing in an environment that fits exactly who they are.
