Kindcentrum de Borg

Kindcentrum de Borg is located at Dusselheugte 13 in the Marsdijk district of Assen. We are one of the Christian child centres operated by CKC Drenthe and provide day-care for children aged 0-4 at this location. Our modern building, completely renovated and expanded in 2012, houses a day-care centre for 45 children. Babies and toddlers play in calm groups with peers, while our pre-school groups already prepare for primary school. We use the national activity programme Uk en Puk for babies and toddlers. In addition, we organise daily ‘Peuterpret’ with activities in the fields of nature, play, music, gym, creativity and cooking. Every day we go outside; our youngest children play safely in the enclosed yard, while we also take the pre-schoolers for walks in the nearby Joop den Uyl park to discover nature. When the weather is nice, the children sleep outdoors in the fresh air. Our pedagogical staff are experienced in caring for and developing children aged 0-4. They closely monitor progress and tailor activities to each child’s needs. We work with a warm handover: when a child is almost four and will attend school at our centre, we make individual settling-in arrangements with the teacher in consultation with the parents. This keeps the transition to the reception class small and familiar. For the very youngest, we provide bottle feeding, fresh fruit and hot meals. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account and use only carefully selected care products. Parents can opt for half-day or full-day care and additional care during holidays and study days.
