Welcome to Kindcentrum Bernhard, located at Wilhelminapark in the heart of Steenwijk. Our child centre offers both Christian primary education and childcare under one roof for children aged 0-13. For our youngest children, aged 0-4, we provide a warm and safe daycare environment where the first 1000 days of your child's life take centre stage. We believe that every child is unique and develops in their own way. From our Christian identity, we work with the motto 'learning to learn, learning to live'. Daily attention is given to Bible stories, we sing Christian songs and celebrate Easter and Christmas together. Our childcare workers are inspired by the Reggio Emilia vision: children are each other's first educators and learn most from each other. We act as the second educator and continuously reflect on our role. In our daycare groups, we work with personalised discovery learning. We give your baby, toddler or pre-schooler the time and space needed to develop themselves, tailored to personal needs and talents. Children discover the world around them through play. We offer a rich learning environment with corners for reading, building, play and nature experience. Making music, movement and outdoor play are fixed parts of our daily programme. In this way, children develop not only cognitive skills, but also empathy, creativity and concentration. Our location has its own outdoor playground where children can romp and discover safely. We work with vertical groups, where children aged 0-4 play and learn together. This stimulates the development of young children and gives older pre-schoolers the opportunity to take responsibility. For the very youngest, there are separate sleeping areas where rest and regularity are central. Sleeping outdoors is also possible, depending on the weather and your child's needs. At Kindcentrum Bernhard, dedicated and professional childcare workers are ready for your child every day with heart and soul. We work closely with parents and value open communication.
