BSO Stiens De Jint

BSO De Jint is an after-school care facility located in Stiens, operating under the Kids First COP group. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12 after school hours, during holidays and on teacher training days. Our BSO is situated in a dedicated space within the De Jint child center at Plataanstrjitte 2 in Stiens. We operate two fixed groups: the Pole Vaulters and the Fierljeppers. Each group accommodates up to 22 children and is supervised by two qualified childcare professionals. Our children attend OBS De Twilling, located just 200 meters away. We collect children from groups 1 and 2 from their classrooms, while children from group 3 onwards make their own way to the BSO. Our pedagogical approach is built on four core objectives: personal competencies, social-emotional safety, social skills, and norms and values. We offer a varied daily program including arts and crafts, sports and games, outdoor play and creative workshops. Shared meals are important to us: at 14:15 we have crackers with drinks, at 16:00 fruit with a cookie, and during holidays we serve a substantial lunch. Our spaces are warmly decorated with various play areas: a games corner, construction area, creative zone and a relaxation spot with books or game computers. We share an outdoor space with the school, complete with play equipment, sandpit, climbing frames and a football goal. In good weather, we spend lots of time outdoors using water and sand to stimulate children's development. Each child has their own mentor who serves as the primary contact for both child and parents. We communicate through the Nanny4All app where parents receive photos and messages and can see who their child's mentor is. We value parental involvement and have an active parent committee that contributes to the development of our care provision.
