Kids & Joy

Welcome to Kids & Joy daycare at Vergouwlaan 8 in Slagharen. Since 2008 we have been providing small-scale, home-style childcare for children aged 0 to 4 in a cosy semi-detached house. We focus on families who need at least three days of care a week and are looking for a genuine second home for their children. We run two vertical groups – Lief and Stoer – each with a maximum of ten children and three regular, passionate staff members who are present at least three days a week. Because everyone knows each other well, the atmosphere feels like one big family; siblings can play together just like at home. The indoor space is furnished like a real home with that little bit extra to stimulate the children. Outside, children enjoy a safe garden where they can run, explore and play. We regularly go out into the neighbourhood: walking, cycling, shopping, visiting the library, playground or petting zoo. These excursions enrich the children’s learning experiences. For toddlers (about 2.5 – 4 years) we organise a special “toddler moment” every morning from 9:00 to 10:30 in our chalet ‘Tof’. During these age-specific activities we use the Uk and Puk programme, which aligns with primary education. Through play, children develop language, numeracy and social skills so they can start school with confidence. Our vision is simple: the child comes first. We provide calm, structure and lots of personal attention. We greet children with a hug, share joy and comfort them when they are sad. Together with parents we ensure every child feels safe, loved and challenged. Kids & Joy is the place where children can simply be children and where we set out every day to discover their unique talents.
