Kids2b BSO Middelstum

Kids2b BSO Middelstum is located at Zuiderstraat 1a in the centre of Middelstum and is part of the northern-Groningen childcare organisation Kids2b. Since 7 October 2019 we provide after-school care for up to 33 primary-school children aged 4 to 12. The site is within walking distance of De Wilster primary school and cooperates with other local schools, so children can walk safely and confidently to the BSO after lessons. Our pedagogical staff work according to Kids2b’s three pillars: ‘food & exercise’, ‘language’ and ‘outdoors’. We create a homely atmosphere in which children are free to develop and where there is room for their own initiative. Activities are tailored to the children’s world and range from crafts, outdoor play and sports to quiet corners for reading or games. Whenever possible we head into nature; the green surroundings of Middelstum offer plenty of opportunities for adventurous discovery trips. Structure and routine are central. After school the children are given a drink and a healthy snack, after which they choose which activity to join. We provide sufficient quiet moments and pay attention to each child’s individual needs. Parents are actively involved through parent meetings and digital updates, so everyone stays informed about their child’s development. In short, at Kids2b BSO Middelstum children find a safe second home where they can relax, play and grow after school in a familiar environment.
