Welcome to Kibeo Hendrikse-akker Barendrecht, a warm and homely daycare centre in the heart of Barendrecht. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 in a small-scale, familiar environment. Our location is part of Kindcentrum Nova – de Driehoek and is located right next to primary school De Driehoek, allowing for a seamless transition to primary education. Everything we do revolves around development through play. The youngest babies crawl and play on soft rugs, discovering the world around them. We sing songs and read aloud to stimulate early language development. Toddlers and preschoolers have plenty of space to climb, build, craft and roll around in the garden. Indoors, we have set up different play corners where children can play, craft and let their imagination run wild. This is not only fun, but also promotes fine motor skills. We work with separate, quiet baby groups so that the youngest receive the peace and attention they need. For older toddlers, we organise ‘Victor de Verkenner’ on Wednesday mornings, an activity specially designed for children aged 3 and over, in which they playfully discover and learn new things. In addition, we offer the ‘Peuterstart’ programme, which prepares toddlers well for primary school. This is part of our early childhood education (VVE), in which we focus on social, emotional and cognitive development. Our pedagogical staff form a close-knit team that cares for the children with great pleasure every day. We believe it is important that children feel safe and secure. That is why we offer a warm environment in which every child is given the space to develop at his or her own pace.
