Voorschool Maas en Waal

Voorschool Maas en Waal is a small-scale daycare centre right in the heart of the Rivierenbuurt, at 550 Uiterwaardenstraat. We are part of Stichting Dynamo Voorscholen, an Amsterdam organisation with more than 28 years of experience in providing warm, safe pre-school care. We welcome up to 16 children aged 0 to 4. Thanks to this modest size we really know every child, notice small changes quickly and can respond immediately to whatever a child needs. Our location is officially registered as a day-care centre (KDV) and therefore offers the basic provision for the very youngest. We work with horizontal age groups: babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers are in separate groups so that activities, materials and guidance are perfectly matched to their developmental stage. Whenever necessary, children move smoothly to the next group, always in close consultation with parents. Early childhood education (VVE) is not a separate programme with us, but a continuous learning line that already starts with the very first steps. We follow the national VVE targets, stimulating language, numeracy, motor skills and social skills through play. Think of story time, singing, tinkering with natural materials and exploring in our safe inner garden. We also work closely with the 15th Montessori School of Maas en Waal, located right next to us. This gives children an early familiar feeling for “big school” and makes the transition smooth later on. Because we stay small, there is room for tailor-made solutions. Flexible childcare days, half or full days, extra hours on request: together with parents we look at what suits best. Our pedagogical staff are ready to offer your child a warm second home, where playing, growing and discovering are central.
