Voorschool Catootje

Voorschool Catootje is located at Lierstraat 1 in Almere and is part of Stichting Vrije Peuterspeelzaal. We provide preschool education (VE) for up to 42 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our approach is inspired by anthroposophical principles: we follow steady daily rhythms, seasonal themes and use natural materials so that children can play and explore in a calm, structured environment. Children attend two fixed afternoons per week from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Each session begins with a shared moment: we sing songs, tell a story and gently make the transition from home to the group. Afterwards children are free to choose from activities such as painting, crafting, sand or water play, and helping in our small vegetable garden. We devote special attention to language development through picture-book reading and singing songs. The room is arranged so that children can take out and put away materials themselves, encouraging independence and responsibility. Outside we have a safe, green playground where children can run, swing and explore. We go outdoors almost every day because outdoor play is just as important as indoor play. Our pedagogical staff observe the children closely and tailor activities to their developmental level. We work with small groups so that every child receives the attention they deserve. Parents are actively involved: we hold parent meetings and regularly share observations so that together we can contribute to a warm and secure upbringing. In short, at Voorschool Catootje children are given the space to grow in a homely, safe and stimulating environment where play, learning and development go hand in hand.
