KDV Villa Doomijn Damsterstede

Welcome to KDV Villa Doomijn Damsterstede, our charming daycare centre located at Damsterdiep 233 in the heart of Groningen. Set in a beautiful historic villa, we provide childcare for up to 64 children aged 0 to 4 years. We have been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 January 2014, allowing parents to apply for childcare allowance. Everything we do revolves around experiencing, exploring and enjoying. Our large, natural garden is a true paradise for little explorers. Children run, romp, climb and scramble among the trees and bushes. They play with water, stones, branches, sand and mud – because dirty hands are part of discovering the world! We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing, so we go outside every day. Our garden also has chickens that we care for together, so children learn from an early age how rewarding it is to look after animals. Inside our spacious villa, everything is designed around the development of young children. We have separate groups for babies up to 1.5 years, toddlers up to 2.5 years and pre-school groups for the very youngest. Each group has its own cosy sleeping room where children can rest peacefully. Our pedagogical staff create a homely, safe atmosphere where children feel at home. We work with engaging themes and organise creative activities such as cutting and pasting, cooking and baking in our studio. We also regularly enjoy yoga and sports & games. A special feature of our childcare is our own children's cook. Every day she prepares fresh, hot meals for all the children. This way, the little ones learn in a playful way that healthy and tasty food is perfectly normal. We believe it is important that children taste everything and discover what they like. Eating together is a cosy moment that we all enjoy. KDV Villa Doomijn Damsterstede is a wonderful place where your child can discover the world, feel safe and play to their heart's content.
