Welcome to KDV-Verkenners Hogevecht, our daycare centre located at Hogevecht 138C in Amsterdam. We provide care for 44 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided into three horizontal core groups: baby group Dombo (0-1.5 years), toddler group Horton (1.5-3 years) and preschool group Tantor (2-4 years). Each group has its own qualified staff member and age-specific environment. Our pedagogical approach centres on offering children a safe, familiar setting in which they can develop freely. We use the Piramide programme: a playful, effective and evidence-based learning curriculum that aligns with national early childhood education (VVE) standards. For children aged 2 to 4 we provide structured preschool activities, supported by our VVE-coach who spends at least 100 hours per year on the group. Healthy nutrition is a priority. Every day we serve breakfast, a hot lunch, fruit and dairy, freshly prepared in our own kitchen. We ensure variety and nutritional value, and bottle-feeding or dietary adaptations are always negotiable. Connection is key. We regard parents as partners in upbringing and communicate openly and regularly about each child’s development. Our pedagogical staff receive monthly coaching and training to maintain high quality. Together we create a place where children play, learn and grow with joy.
