Thuishuis NiniMini

Thuishuis NiniMini is a small-scale daycare centre in the heart of Ter Apel, located in the historic Sint Lucia building at Kapelweg 13. Led by Nienke Woldhuis, we have provided a trusted home-from-home for children aged 0 to 4 since 2015. Our team of four regular pedagogical staff – Charlene, Harma, Kimberly and Nienke herself – work on fixed days so that every child always knows who will be there, creating close bonds between child, parent and carer. Inside, children enjoy a cosy, homely space with dedicated play corners: a construction area for discovery and creativity, a home corner for role-play, a large craft table for drawing, sticking and painting together, and a quiet relaxation corner with soft cushions and picture books. The room is carefully arranged so that both babies and toddlers feel safe and stimulated. Our spacious green outdoor playground invites running, climbing, sand-pit adventures and nature exploration. We believe children should be able to play outside every day, whatever the weather. We use vertical grouping: children aged 0 to 4 play together. This encourages the development of the youngest and a sense of responsibility in the older ones. Every Tuesday we serve a warm meal, giving parents one extra relaxed evening. We also provide bottle feeding for the very youngest and respect individual sleep and feeding routines. Opening hours are 06:30–18:30; other times can be arranged by agreement. You pay by the hour and only for the hours you actually use. There is no waiting list – we will be happy to discuss a suitable place for your child.
