Welcome to kdv ’t Zonnehuisje, our daycare centre at Canadalaan 2c in the heart of Sas van Gent. We are part of Stichting Kinderopvang Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and have been providing trusted, professional childcare for children aged 0-4 for more than ten years. Our centre has one horizontal baby group and two toddler groups, so your child is always with peers and activities are perfectly matched to his or her stage of development. Safety, warmth and space to grow are central to everything we do. Our pedagogical staff follow every child individually: the very youngest enjoy quiet nap times, bottle feeding on request and gentle cuddles, while toddlers and pre-schoolers explore the doll corner, car corner, construction corner and themed corner. We sing together, dance, make music on drums and the triangle, craft with paint and clay and regularly go on discovery trips in our own garden or on outings in the neighbourhood. We read aloud every day in our reading corner; books are always within reach. Our spacious, green outdoor area invites running, climbing, scrambling and ball games. When the weather is nice we eat outside and make use of the nearby school playground of De Statie. Indoors we work with different themes that connect to the world of young children. Think of seasons, animals, traffic or emotions. Each theme is brought to life through circle discussions, videos on the smart board, creative corners and of course lots of playtime fun. We believe it is important that parents can fully focus on work or study. That is why we take care of all practical matters: nappies, wipes, hot meals, fresh fruit and drinks are included. Does your child have an allergy or dietary requirement? No problem, our kitchen adjusts the menu accordingly. Everything for sleeping is also provided: quiet bedrooms with cots and beds, cuddly toys and duvets. Half days are possible and during school holidays we remain open from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm, so you can always rely on us.
