't Vlindertje

Peuterspeelzaal 't Vlindertje is a special location of Stichting Kinderspeelzalen Harderwijk, located at the asylum seekers center on Graaf Ottolaan 26 in Harderwijk. Since the AZC opened in autumn 2016, we have been active here to provide children from diverse cultures with a safe and familiar learning environment. Our playgroup is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 251399850. We offer horizontal group care for toddlers aged 2 to 4 years old. Our opening hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:30 to 12:30, and Wednesday from 08:30 to 12:00. Each morning starts with free play, after which we gather in a circle. Here we sing songs and use a photo ritual to say good morning to each other, which contributes to a sense of connection. Language development is central to our approach. We work with the Uk&Puk methodology and use various themes to playfully teach the Dutch language. We consciously create a bridge between the children's own culture and Dutch culture. Music plays an important role in this: we use musical instruments, sing together and use CDs to stimulate language development. After the circle, there is room for free play, during which our pedagogical staff give individual attention or work in small groups on what was discussed in the circle. We end the morning with shared fruit and drinks at the large table, followed by outdoor play when weather permits. Especially for these children, outdoor play is important because learning a new language requires a lot of concentration and energy. Our two permanent pedagogical staff members are ready to provide the children with a safe foundation from our mission and vision and prepare them for a bright future in a new country.
