Welcome to peuterspeelgroep ’t Hummelhonk, the place in Appelscha where toddlers aged 2 to 4 grow and learn through play. We are located in a detached, cosy building at De Slegge 14, in a quiet residential area. Everything we do centres on personal attention and a safe, inspiring environment in which every child feels secure and challenged. We follow the recognised Early Childhood Education (ECE) Piramide programme. This means we stimulate language, social skills and motor development in a playful way. The day is structured according to the Piramide system: we start in a circle, introduce the weekly theme, sing together and then work in small groups on focused activities. In between there is time for fruit, drinks and plenty of free play in our spacious group room and secure outdoor garden. ’t Hummelhonk is open five days a week from 08:30 to 14:00. We run two horizontal groups: Group 1 welcomes children Monday to Friday, Group 2 on Tuesday and Friday. Each group is guided by at least one regular pedagogical employee, supported by a volunteer or intern, keeping guidance small-scale and personal. Our outdoor area invites running, cycling, sand-pit adventures and discovering nature. Inside we offer various corners: a reading corner, construction corner and creative table, all tailored to the world of toddlers. Parents receive practical tips and activity sheets for each theme, so development continues at home.
