't Bootje

Welcome to daycare ’t Bootje, a warm and small-scale childcare centre located at Bovenpolder 53 in De Meern. We provide care for up to 7 children in one vertical group, where children aged 0 to 4 play, learn and grow together. Led by Djoeke van der Valk, an experienced childcare professional, we focus on personal attention and a homely atmosphere. At ’t Bootje, we believe it’s important that children feel safe and secure. We work from a familiar, home-like environment that aligns as closely as possible with the parenting style of each family. Our approach is calm, involved and child-centred. We use the KidsConnect child tracking system to carefully monitor each child’s development and offer additional support when needed. The daily schedule is flexible and tailored to the needs of the children. The day starts with a shared breakfast, followed by free play, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and language and motor activities. We have a spacious back garden where children can run, explore and enjoy the fresh air. Indoors, there is a quiet sleeping area, a craft table and a cosy reading corner with books and games. We value clear communication with parents. Each day is briefly recorded in a notebook, and there is always time for a chat during pick-up and drop-off. We follow a careful settling-in policy, allowing both child and parent to gently adjust to the new environment. For babies, we offer bottle feeding, nappy changes and nap times tailored to their needs. For toddlers, we encourage toilet training, independence and social skills. ’t Bootje is a place where your child is not just cared for, but where they are supported to develop at their own pace, with love, structure and room for discovery.
