Stichting Het Peuterhuis

Welcome to Stichting Het Peuterhuis at Zuilenburg 68 in Dordrecht. We are an anthroposophical daycare center where children aged 2 to 4 can play and develop in a warm, homely atmosphere. Our location at Zuilenburg is housed in a classroom of the Dordrecht Free School and offers a peaceful environment centered on rhythm, repetition and nature. We believe in the power of ritual and regularity. Each morning begins with a fixed structure that provides children with security and safety. Our play mornings take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 to 13:00. During these mornings we work with natural materials and biodynamic food. The toys are carefully selected and consist exclusively of wood, wool and other natural materials that stimulate the senses and imagination. Our pedagogical approach is based on anthroposophical insights. We carefully observe each child and tailor our activities to their individual developmental stage. Artistic activities such as painting, sculpting and handwork are central, as are storytelling and singing songs. Nature plays an important role in our program: we garden with the children, take walks in the area and pay attention to the seasons. Safety and health are self-evident to us. We work with small groups so there is plenty of individual attention for each child. Our pedagogical staff are specialized in the anthroposophical approach to young children and regularly attend training. We offer a predictable environment where children can develop freely at their own pace.
