KDV Spelenderwijs

Welcome to KDV Spelenderwijs, our small-scale daycare centre located at Poppelseweg 11 in Goirle. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely, rural setting where children learn through play in nature. Our location is surrounded by greenery and features spacious indoor and outdoor areas with garden doors that open to the garden, allowing children to move freely between inside and outside. At Spelenderwijs we work with vertical groups: children of different ages (0-4 years) are mixed together. We believe this is important for social development; younger children learn from older ones and older children develop caring and responsibility. We have a warm team of dedicated childcare professionals who greet each child every morning with genuine interest in their wellbeing. We pay special attention to personal birthdays and special family events, often celebrated with a handmade craft. Our activities are closely connected to nature and the children's world of experience. We have animals that the children can care for and a vegetable garden where they tend plants and sometimes take something home, like sunflowers. We regularly go on trips with the cargo bike and organise creative, educational activities around nature themes. Children are given space to simply be children, while we maintain a good balance between pedagogical methods, healthy nutrition and creativity.
