SKSG Krullevaar

Welcome to SKSG Krullevaar, our daycare centre located in the green, water-rich neighbourhood of Meerstad. We share a modern building with Samenwerkingsschool Meeroevers and offer 52 places for children aged 0 to 4. From the moment you step inside, you feel the calm and space our location radiates. Large windows overlook reed beds, ponds and natural-material play areas where children can run, climb, spot birds and play in the clay. We work with small-scale horizontal and vertical home groups. The baby group Talieloe (0-3 years, max. 12 children) is inspired by Emmi Pikler’s insights: calm, respectful care and free movement exploration are central. For the very youngest we adapt as much as possible to the rhythm they are used to at home and there is always room for breastfeeding or a bottle. The toddler groups Pluk and Zaza (2-4 years) and the vertical group Flattekat (0-4 years) use the VVE programme Startblokken. Themes such as ‘animals in the garden’, ‘water’ or ‘the forest’ connect with the children’s world of experience and stimulate language, motor skills and social-emotional development. Activities can take place in the child’s own home group, but also in the adjoining school spaces when children feel safe. Our pedagogical staff are familiar, trusted faces. Each child is assigned a personal mentor who gets to know the child well and stays aligned with parents. We value continuity: a maximum of three familiar faces per child, so there is always someone who truly sees your child. In addition, we deploy a team flex worker in case of illness or leave, so the familiar atmosphere is maintained. Outside is just as important as inside. We use the natural play areas around the building daily: children plant seeds, look for frogs or build huts from branches. Sometimes we take a short excursion to the lake or the park. The transition to primary school is smooth: toddlers who are almost four are already allowed to take a look in the kindergarten groups, read a book in the learning plazas or join a movement activity. In this way our children naturally grow from daycare to school. SKSG Krullevaar is open Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm; extended care is available from 7.00 am to 6.30 pm.
