KDV Schoonoord Slagkrooie

Welcome to KDV Schoonoord De Slagkrooie, our day-care centre located at Ringstraat 22 in the heart of Schoonoord. We are part of Stichting Kinderwereld and have been providing day-care for babies and toddlers aged 0–4 since 2022 in a warm, family-style mixed-age group. Children of different ages play and learn together, allowing the youngest to learn from the older ones while the preschoolers practise caring and pride. Our pedagogical staff—Priscilla, Lucianne, Chantal and Annet—offer personal attention every day, following the recent pedagogical plan drawn up together with the local health authority and municipality. Play, movement and discovery are central: we sing together, craft with natural materials, read aloud in our cosy book corner and go outside to our large green garden at least twice a day. There children can romp in the sandpit, ride on the traffic track or nap peacefully in the shade in one of our outdoor beds. We also organise short trips to the nearby playground or woods. For the youngest we provide bottle feeding on parents’ request, change nappies and follow each child’s individual sleep rhythm. Toddlers enjoy a healthy snack of fresh fruit and a whole-grain sandwich; we cater for lactose- or gluten-free diets when needed. Every child has a fixed mentor who closely monitors development and updates parents weekly. We also implement Early Childhood Education (VVE) so that preschoolers can already practise language, numeracy and social skills through play. In short, at KDV Schoonoord De Slagkrooie children find a safe second home where they can develop at their own pace, while parents can work or study with peace of mind.
