KDV Schildwolde de Krummelborg

Day-care centre De Krummelbörg is specially designed for children from 0 to 4 years old. We offer loving attention and a sense of security, give children space to develop and above all encourage them to play and simply be children. That is what they are allowed to be with us: just children. Their needs come first. Our day-care centre is located in the primary school building of OBS de Meent in Schildwolde. We work with small groups: a maximum of 16 children per day, so that every child receives the attention they deserve. The rooms are bright, safe and invitingly furnished. Inside, children can play freely, do crafts, sculpt, draw or paint. Outside we have a fully enclosed garden with play equipment, a sandpit and, in summer, a water tray to splash around in. We regularly use the school’s playroom. There the children can run, dance, climb and slide down the slide. When the weather is nice we are outside a lot; when the weather is bad the playroom offers extra room to move. We believe it is important that children can explore, experiment and let their imagination run free. Reading and being read to is of course also part of the programme. Every week the children may choose a book from the book-treat mother. They take the book home in a yellow bag with the Book Bear on it. Twice a year they also receive a theme book with a craft book. Every year we take part in the National Reading Aloud Days. The librarian from Slochteren then comes to read the award-winning toddler book aloud with the storytelling box. In short: at De Krummelbörg your child has every opportunity to grow in a safe, homely environment where fun and development go hand in hand.
