KDV Scharn

Welcome to KDV Scharn, a warm and small-scale daycare centre located at Kloosterstraat 14 in Maastricht. From the moment you step inside, you feel at home. Our location is colourful, calm and offers space for up to 45 children aged 0 to 4. We are part of MIK & Spelenderwijs and, together with Basisschool Scharn, form the Integral Child Centre (IKC) Scharn. This means childcare and education are seamlessly aligned. We offer different group types so you can choose what suits your child best: a mixed-age group (0–4 years), a toddler group (2–4 years), a baby group (0–2.5 years) and a unique 3+ group at our satellite location. The baby group has its own building with quiet, cosy rooms. Baby specialists provide gentle care focused on rest and routine. We limit stimuli and create a safe haven where babies can sleep, feed and explore. In the mixed-age group, siblings can play and learn together. The toddler group is always lively: eating, singing, crafting and moving together. We love outdoor play. Every group has its own door to our inner garden. Children can run, cycle or join us on trips to the forest. Being active is healthy and fun. Our pedagogical staff are trained in Early Childhood Education (VVE) and use the Speelplezier methodology – the same approach used in grades 1 and 2 at Basisschool Scharn. This ensures a smooth transition to primary school. We provide a safe, familiar environment where every child can develop at their own pace.
