SamSam Westerpark

SamSam childcare Westerpark is located in the heart of the Cultuurdorp Westergas in Amsterdam-West. This special location is housed in a beautiful historic building and forms part of a vibrant environment where culture and nature come together. We are a small-scale daycare center with 46 places per day, divided into two age groups: 22 places for children from 10 weeks to 2.5 years and 24 places for children from 2 to 4 years. Our pre-school groups for children from 3 years are located in a specially designed toddler building. Here you will find two separate toddler groups with various challenging corners and rooms. Children can explore a play kitchen, building corner, green corner, number/letter corner, art space, and even a light and dark room. These spaces are carefully designed to challenge children according to their age and development, while simultaneously learning to play together in small groups. Nature plays a central role in our daily activities. Next to SamSam is a large outdoor playground where children can freely explore and play. There are trees, bark and sand, grass grows, and after rainfall there are puddles to jump in! We have daily conversations with the children about nature and teach them respect for all living things. We don't just keep nature outside - we bring nature inside with natural elements in our group spaces. As part of the vibrant Westergas area, we regularly make use of the cultural events in the surroundings. We take children to activities such as Cinekid, the ice rink, and Circus Zanzara that are organized in the Cultuurdorp. These cultural excursions are an important part of our culture and creativity-focused approach. We believe in small-scale childcare where every child receives the attention they deserve. Our experienced pedagogical staff create a warm and safe environment where children can develop at their own pace. We work with horizontal groups, where children come together in age groups to optimally match their developmental stage.
