Pluktuin

De Pluktuin is a small-scale daycare centre located at Joseph Haydnlaan 1 in Hazerswoude-Rijndijk. Situated right next to primary school De Steijaert, the location offers an easy transition from daycare to school for local families. We welcome a maximum of 16 children, divided into two horizontal groups: one for babies (0-2 years) and one for toddlers (2-4 years). This structure allows us to tailor care, stimulation and activities to each developmental stage. Our greatest asset is the large, natural garden. From the playrooms children step straight outside; wind or rain never stop us from exploring. Throughout the year we garden, play and learn outdoors. The youngest children have a safe crawling and play area so they too can discover the outside world. In spring and summer the children pick flowers, herbs and vegetables themselves – hence our name. A special feature is outdoor napping: children can sleep in secure outdoor beds under a blanket while enjoying the scents and sounds of nature. Inside, the rooms feel homely and are arranged into cosy corners for reading, building and crafting. A stable team of qualified pedagogical staff knows every child personally. Our approach focuses on building self-confidence, curiosity and respect for others and for nature. Activities follow the children’s interests: one day we hunt for worms and bake mud pies, the next we sing songs or read stories in the sunshine. Thanks to our small size we can respond quickly to individual needs and developmental rhythms. In short, De Pluktuin offers children aged 0 to 4 a safe, homely and nature-rich environment to grow.
