Peuterspeelzaal De Boomgaard

Peuterspeelzaal De Boomgaard is located right in the centre of Wierden, on the ground floor of primary school Mariaschool at Bongerd 1. We are a small-scale playgroup that has been registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK 134423951) since 2014 and operates under Stichting De Welle. Children aged 2 to 4 are welcome on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. Our room is arranged in a clear and playful way so that toddlers quickly feel at home. We use the ‘Uk & Puk’ development programme, a thematic method that playfully stimulates children in the areas of language, numeracy, motor skills and social development. Each morning starts with a circle time in which we sing, read aloud and discuss the day. Afterwards the children can choose whether they want to do crafts, build, play in the home corner or play a game. In between we drink and eat fruit together; fresh and seasonal. Our permanent team consists of pedagogical staff members Marion Klomp and Daniëlle Exterkate. They are supported on Tuesdays and Thursdays by an enthusiastic volunteer. Stand-in Jannette Lubbers steps in when needed. Pedagogical coach Jolanda Arfman monitors quality and guides the team. Thanks to this small, close-knit group we know every child well and can respond to his or her development and interests. We maintain close contact with the primary school to ensure a smooth transition to Year 1. Children with a pre-school education (VE) indication are very welcome with us. We align activities and observations with the goals set out in the development plan. Parents receive a comprehensive development report twice a year and are always welcome for a chat. Together we ensure that your toddler starts primary school with a big smile and a solid foundation.
