Peuteropvang ’t Heggeholletje is located in the Triton community building at Jasmijnstraat 36 in Vaassen and is part of Stichting Koppel-Swoe. We provide care for toddlers aged 2 to 4 in a green, safe and stimulating environment. The location has room for a maximum of 16 children and has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK 225213229) since 2 January 2010, allowing parents to apply for childcare allowance. We believe every child develops in his or her own unique way. Therefore we tailor our approach to each child’s individuality; the individual child is always at the centre. Our qualified pedagogical staff follow a clear daily rhythm that offers children structure and predictability: a welcome circle, joint activities and plenty of free play. The play corners are designed to match the world of toddlers and encourage cooperative play and social skills. Our large green outdoor area is truly special. Children can cycle, run and explore nature to their heart’s content. We have a vegetable garden, a water track, a sensory wall and a sandpit with an outdoor kitchen. Activities that normally take place indoors – such as colouring, puzzling or story time – are regularly moved outside. After all, anything that can be done inside can also be done outside. In the vegetable garden children learn about healthy food and literally get green fingers. We consciously focus on nature experience and have been awarded the ‘Green Childcare’ quality label. Reading aloud is important to us. During the National Reading Days the library comes to read the Picture Book of the Year and the toddlers can re-enact the story. We also organise excursions, such as a trip to the playground in Emst or a visit from a beekeeper who lets the children experience how honey is made. In this way we combine language development with real-world discovery. Peuteropvang ’t Heggeholletje is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM; the toddler playgroup on the same days from 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM.
