KDV Marsum De Pikepôlle

Welcome to Peuteropvang Marsum De Pikepôlle, part of Kids First. We provide care for toddlers aged 2 to 4 in a safe, homely setting at Skoallestrjitte 28 in Marsum. Our location is small-scale: a maximum of 16 children per day, divided into two horizontal groups. This allows us to give every toddler the attention they deserve. Our pedagogical policy is laid down in the current 2025 Pedagogical Work Plan. We follow the principles of Early Childhood Education (VVE). This means we stimulate language, numeracy and social skills through play. We read aloud every day, sing songs and use multilingual word cards to support emerging literacy. Numbers and letters are introduced in a playful way through puzzles, labels and daily-routine cards. The day starts with a joint moment: singing together, discussing the day and then free play. We offer various activities such as crafts, singing, reading aloud and outdoor play. Once a week we take the children swimming in the nearby pool. We also make regular trips to nature or the petting farm. Our spacious garden invites exploration: there is a sandbox, a water tray and plenty of room to run and cycle. Healthy nutrition is important. We serve an extensive breakfast, a warm lunch and snacks according to the Nutrition Centre. Taking allergies or dietary requirements into account is a matter of course. In between there is rest: in our quiet bedrooms children can sleep or take a break on a bed with their own cuddly toy. Parents are welcome with us. We consider parental involvement essential: through the parent committee, parent meetings and informal contact we keep each other informed. Together we ensure that every child feels safe, seen and valued. We look forward to welcoming your toddler too!
