Peuteropvang Jip en Janneke is a trusted toddler care centre run by Stichting Kinderopvang Nuth, located in the Brede School building at St. Remigiusstraat 1a in Schimmert. For many years, we have provided care for toddlers aged 2 to 4 in a homely and safe environment. Our location is small-scale, ensuring that all pedagogical professionals know parents and children personally, creating a warm and familiar atmosphere. We follow a clear pedagogical policy centred on learning through play. Every day, we offer development-focused activities that connect with the child’s world of experience. Themes include ‘I am a baker’ or ‘I’m going camping’. Indoors, toddlers can play in the construction corner, the home corner or the tree house. Outdoors, there is a large garden where they can run, play with sand and water, dance in the rain or search for small animals. At Peuteropvang Jip en Janneke, we use the VVE method Speelplezier. This method stimulates children’s cognitive and social skills and prepares them playfully for primary school. We believe it is important for children to learn independence and therefore give them space to try things themselves, such as drinking from an open cup, spreading their own sandwich or dressing themselves.
