De Zonnestraaltjes

Welcome to playgroup De Zonnestraaltjes, part of Royal Kids Home and located at Koggerwaard 1 in Capelle aan den IJssel. We welcome children aged 2 to 4 in two cosy, same-age groups. Our room is warmly and calmly furnished with plenty of wood and soft pastel colours, so every child feels at home right away. We follow the VVE programme Uk en Puk, using themes such as “Achoo” or “Hospital” to stimulate language, numeracy and social skills through play. The home corner with kitchen and doll bed invites role play, while the construction corner with blocks and garage trains spatial insight and cooperation. In the reading corner children can quietly look at picture books or be read to. A themed corner changes with the current topic; real materials like empty packaging, bandages or doctor kits make play tangible and recognisable. Outside we play on our own enclosed playground at the front of the school. A sandpit, climbing frame, bikes and balls provide motor challenges and fun. During outdoor play a permanent pedagogical worker is always present and the gate remains closed to guarantee safety. Our day starts at 08:30 with a joint moment; afterwards children freely choose from the activities. Around 10:00 there is a snack with fruit and a drink. At 11:30 we tidy up together and close with a circle in which we look back on the morning. Pick-up is possible until 11:45. We offer both full and half days, depending on what suits your family best.
