Peuteropvang Buitenpret

Peuteropvang Buitenpret is located on the grounds of primary school De Jozef in the heart of Rietmolen. We are part of Stichting Humankind and offer a safe, playful learning environment for up to 15 toddlers aged 2 to 4 years on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 08:30 to 12:30. Fun and discovery are at the heart of everything we do. We focus on independence: children learn to put on and take off their coats, hold their own cup and wash their hands. Daily activities include shared play, reading picture books and singing songs. We introduce language in a playful way by practising letters and words and we explore numbers. Children learn to share and take others into account while being challenged in both fine and gross motor skills. Our team of VE-qualified pedagogical professionals use the ‘Uk & Puk’ programme. Puppet Puk is the familiar playmate who introduces a new theme every five weeks. The related activities stimulate speech and language skills, social-emotional development and early numeracy. We observe the children daily and tailor our activities to their world of experience. By paying close attention to social and emotional aspects, we prepare the children for primary school in a playful way. The collaboration with De Jozef primary school makes the transition smoother: the toddlers already become familiar with the school building and its surroundings, which parents greatly appreciate. We value communication with parents. Each morning there is time for a brief chat and we regularly organise parent meetings. This ensures that every child feels welcome and is free to be who he or she is.
