Peuteropvang Boartlik Bigjin

Peuteropvang Boartlik Bigjin is located in the multifunctional building at P.Walmastrjitte 8 in Oppenhuizen and is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland. We provide toddler care for children aged 2 to 4 years in a homely and safe environment. The location is beautiful, spacious and bright and is centrally located in the village, sharing the building with primary school It Harspit and the multifunctional centre. Our vision is clear: the child is central. We believe it is important that every child feels happy and confident with us. We offer a homely atmosphere and give children the space to discover themselves at their own pace. We work according to the philosophy of Thomas Gordon. By actively listening to the child and communicating from the I-message, we create an open and respectful environment. All our pedagogical staff have completed the Gordon training. We provide pre-school education (VVE) according to the 'High Five' programme. This programme focuses on the development of language, numeracy, motor skills and social-emotional skills. We work with themes that connect to the children's world of experience. Parents are actively involved in their child's development. We organise parent meetings and regularly send out newsletters. The care is aimed at stimulating children in their development through play. We work with small groups, allowing for a lot of individual attention. We use a horizontal group structure, where children of the same age are together in a group. This promotes development and playing with peers.
