KDV Peutergroep Hummelhonk

Welcome to KDV Peutergroep Hummelhonk, located at Weidestraat 5 in the centre of Driebergen-Rijsenburg. We are a recognised toddler group and part of Stichting Scala. Tucked away behind the sports hall, our setting is a cosy, detached building with a spacious, fully enclosed discovery garden where children aged 2 to 4 can explore the world together with peers. We follow the Dutch Early Childhood Education (VE) programme Uk & Puk. Each morning starts with a circle time where puppet Puk tells the children what the day will bring. Activities are linked to themes such as ‘Cuddles’, ‘Hooray, a baby’, ‘Rain’ and ‘This is me’. After circle time children choose where to play: in the construction corner, doll corner, car corner or outside in the sandpit and on the bikes. We sing songs, eat fruit and have a drink together. Around 11.30 we go outside, and at 12.15 parents pick up their children. We also organise regular outings to the library, supermarket or petting farm. Our pedagogical plan describes how we put our vision and core values into daily practice. We focus on language development, social-emotional growth and motor skills. Parents receive explanations and activity sheets for every theme so they can continue the learning at home. Together we provide a relaxed and educational preparation for primary school. In short, at KDV Peutergroep Hummelhonk toddlers play, learn and grow in a safe, warm environment, step by step ready for the next stage.
