Peutergroep De Draaitol at Montessorischool is located in the same building as Montessori Dukenburg primary school and SamSam after-school care at Malvert 7373 in Nijmegen. We provide care for up to 16 toddlers per session in a calm, manageable group. Our toddler group follows the philosophy of Maria Montessori: children are given all the space to develop themselves in a challenging environment. The group room is arranged according to the Montessori method with different play corners where children can actively engage on their own. We offer structure with room for curiosity, personal responsibility and the development of individual talents. Outdoor play is central in our naturally designed inner garden where children can climb on a tree trunk, ride a course or crawl through a willow tunnel. We regularly visit the primary school toddlers and join in with Sinterklaas and Christmas celebrations at school. At De Draaitol we work with Early Childhood Education (VE) to let children learn and develop through play. Our pedagogical staff provide challenging and playful activities that match each child's level and interests. The goal is to properly prepare children for primary school by focusing on social skills, language, motor skills and arithmetic.
