Peuteracademie Provenier

Welcome to Peuteracademie Provenier, located within primary school De Provenier in Rotterdam’s Provenierswijk district. We provide a safe, small-scale group for up to 15 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our aim is to prepare children for primary school in a playful way. We follow the Reggio Emilia approach, placing the child’s natural curiosity at the centre and giving space to their own initiative and discovery. Each morning or afternoon session begins with a calm moment where we read, sing or tell stories together. Children then choose from various activities: building with large blocks, crafting with natural materials, experimenting with water and sand, or role-play in our themed corners. We use materials from the immediate environment and let children explore on their own. Our pedagogical staff observe, ask open questions and support where needed, while keeping the child in control. Outdoor play is a fixed part of our programme. We have a secure, green playground where children can run, cycle, build sandcastles and explore nature. When the weather is good we eat outside and use outdoor materials such as chalk, bubbles and balls. Pre-school education (VE) is fully integrated. We track each child’s development in language, numeracy, social skills and motor skills. Our activities are designed to stimulate these skills through play. We work with themes that connect to the children’s world, such as ‘the forest’, ‘animals’ or ‘the weather’. Parents can choose 2 to 7 half-days per week. We offer morning and afternoon sessions, always including a healthy snack and drink. We accommodate allergies and dietary needs. Our regular team members Carien (pedagogical coach), Els, Anita, Asma and Salima are ready to give your child a warm welcome.
