Welcome to Onze Opvang in de Sancta Maria, our day-care centre on the ground floor of Kindcentrum Sancta Maria at Bathmenseweg 39 in Lettele. We provide care for up to 32 children aged 0 to 4, divided into a baby group (0-2 years) and a toddler group (2-4 years). Our rooms are located in a separate, homely wing of the school with its own entrance, allowing you to drop off and collect your child in peace. We use a horizontal group structure. In the baby group safety and security come first. From a low play-pen or right in the middle of the room the very youngest can explore the world while our regular pedagogical staff offer a familiar daily rhythm that is, of course, adjusted to your child’s own rhythm. Every baby has a personal mentor who tracks development through the KIJK! child-monitoring system. In the toddler group we challenge children to grow through play. We work with themes that connect to the kindergarten groups of the primary school, ensuring a smooth transition later on. Kindergarteners and toddlers meet regularly; this lets toddlers get used to the kindergarten environment while kindergarteners keep in touch with old friends. Activities such as creative crafts, reading aloud, outdoor play and simple cooking are adapted to the children’s age and level of understanding. Parents can choose full or half-day care. The toddler group is also open five mornings a week from 08:30 to 11:45. Warm meals, bread meals, fruit and drinks are included; special diets and allergies are arranged personally with you. Nappies, wipes, formula and care products are on hand so you can drop off worry-free. We value warm contact with you: through parent meetings and daily handovers we keep you fully informed of your child’s development. Our garden and playground are right next to the group rooms, so children can move outside safely and quickly. Together we create a loving environment in which every child can develop at his or her own pace.
