KDV Onder de Wieken

KDV Onder de Wieken is a small-scale daycare located in the centre of Nieuw-Beijerland. We are part of the Integrated Child Centre (IKC) Onder de Wieken, so children from 0 to 4 years can grow up in one familiar place. With only twelve places we offer a homely atmosphere in which every child is given space to develop at his or her own pace. We follow the Dalton principles: cooperation, independence, responsibility, effectiveness and reflection. We translate these values to the youngest children by letting them discover through play. Each period centres on a new theme, such as ‘Clothing’. The children look at their own clothes, play shop, do the laundry and make a necklace that matches their outfit. In this way they not only learn about the theme, but also about sharing, making choices and helping each other. Our location is recognised as an Early Childhood Education (VVE) site. This means we offer pre-school education using the Puk method. This method stimulates language, numeracy and social skills in a playful way. Our pedagogical staff observe each child’s development and tailor activities accordingly, so that every child receives the right level of challenge. Thanks to close cooperation with the playgroup in the same building, children experience a smooth transition to primary education. Parents appreciate having one trusted address for both childcare and education. We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and welcome your child with a warm smile.
