Welcome to Atalenta KDV Fonkeltuin, a warm and cosy daycare centre set amid the wooded surroundings of Weebosch in Bergeijk. Our small-scale premises at Witrijtseweg 9a welcome a maximum of eight children aged 0 to 4. This limited capacity guarantees every child the individual attention they deserve and gives parents the peace of mind they need. Our approach is built on ‘learning through experience’. Since 2018 we have followed this principle: outdoor play is just as valuable as a quiet story-time. Our large, natural garden, equipped with play structures and green discovery areas, invites children to romp, explore and grow. Inside, snug corners filled with books and craft supplies create a homely atmosphere where creativity can flourish. Seasonal themes – collecting leaves in autumn, planting seeds in spring – turn every day into a small adventure. We work in one vertical group: babies, toddlers and preschoolers share the same space. The youngest learn from the oldest, while the oldest develop a sense of care and responsibility. Our dedicated pedagogical staff guide each child individually, follow their curiosity and provide a secure base where self-confidence can blossom like wild flowers in the Bergeijk countryside. A daily reading ritual and a freshly prepared meal give even the youngest children a reassuring rhythm. Atalenta KDV Fonkeltuin is part of the education and childcare organisation Atalenta. This connection allows us to draw on the expertise and facilities of primary school Fonkeltuin without losing our own identity. We remain a homely, small-scale place where parents and children know one another and every smile counts.
