Nanny Poppins

Welcome to Nanny Poppins at Hoofddorpplein 22 H in Amsterdam. We are a small-scale daycare centre offering a home-like environment for children aged 0 to 4. Our setting is built around vertical groups: babies/toddlers (0–2 years) and toddlers/preschoolers (1–4 years) grow and learn together, just like in a family. Our pedagogical staff create a safe, familiar space where every child can be themselves. We are sensitive and responsive, attuned to each child’s signals and needs. Daily care moments—nappy changes, feeding, settling to sleep—are valuable play moments filled with songs, sound games and cuddles. For the youngest children, emotionally focused contact play is central. Older children are gently prepared for primary school: we use daily-routine cards and circle-time conversations to build independence and a sense of time. Thanks to our vertical grouping, younger children learn from older ones, while older children practise helping and taking responsibility. Our rooms are stocked with age-appropriate materials. A young toddler can already join the home corner alongside older peers and take the next developmental step. We believe that the interaction between children, the dedication of our staff and our cosy, domestic layout together foster every child’s growth.
